6. How can I learn more about nutrition and quality foods?

For the last several decades, the food guide pyramid has been the resource for nutrition. While this focused on quantity, little to no attention was on quality. I suggest the greatest progress in health for the next several years or even decades will be centered on quality.

There are two respected nutrition certifications currently in the US. The most widely known is the Registered Dietitian (RD). Most major colleges and universities can give you more information regarding this profession. The second is the Certified Clinical Nutritionist. The CCN is generally trained under an alternative format, including herbal studies, etc. For more information on the CCN program, contact http://www.cncb.org.

7. Why Does Biologique Pay Attention to Education?

Simple. Our passion is in helping people become more healthy. Unlike a strict grocery business, we consider ourselves in the health business. It is not our intention to just sell food. It is our intention to increase the quality of life by providing the highest quality food available.

In 2000, the World Health Organization conducted a survey and found that malnutrition is the #1 cause of death worldwide. Although we can assume that poor third-world countries bring this number up, we must consider that C. Everett Coupe, former US Surgeon General, suggests that 8 of the top 10 diseases in America are a direct result of poor nutrition. It’s not that we’re eating too little, we’re eating too poorly.

Biodynamic (BD) Farming is the oldest form of farming still around today. Starting in the earlier 1900's, BD Farming focuses on using the natural materials of the land to grow foods. In doing so, BDF practices crop rotation to increase the health and nutrient density of the soil, impliments animals to do the same, and recycles natural materials, such as compost.
