This Week's Highlights Environmental Health with Thom Hartmann Since WWII, an estimated 85,000 synthetic chemicals have been released into the environment. Every year, over 1 billion tons pesticides are dumped into our environment. In a study of newborn blood released by the EWG, an average of 200 industrial chemicals and pollutants were found in umbilical cord blood from 10 babies. U.S. EPA studies of chemicals stored in the fat of humans show that 100% of people have dioxins, PCBs, and dichlorobenzene in their tissue.
The research is very clear that the destruction of our environment is affecting the delicate balance of nature, destroying ecosystems, poisoning our children before they take their first breathe, and storing toxins in our tissues causing chronic degenerative disease. This week, we will ask Thom Hartmann what we can do personally and politically to cease this destruction and restore harmony and good health in our environment and our bodies. Thom Hartmann is the host of the nationally syndicated radio show The Thom Hartmann Program. Thom is an international speaker on culture and economics and an innovator in the fields of psychiatry, ecology, and economics. Thom is a New York Times best selling author of 19 books including: Cracking the Code, Screwed, The Prophet's Way, Uneaqual Protection, 9 books on ADD, and The Last Hours of Ancient Sunlight which inspired the documentary film The 11th Hour.
